First 14U manager committed: John Debbaut

The BATC Emperors signed a very experienced youth coach in John Debbaut. John, 46 years old, was born and raised in Antwerp, Belgium. In his youth he played for Antwerp Eagles and went on to play in the Belgian Major League for Antwerp Eagles, Hoboken Pioneers and Berendrecht Bears before heading to The Netherlands.trevordiy.wordpress.com

Coach John served as a youth coach at Almere ’90 and as a team manager and coach for the Dutch 15U and 18U national teams. For the past 3 years John has been the manager of Scimitars, one of the Dutch baseball academies, and coach of HCAW Rookies and the HCAW hoofdklasse team.

The Battle at the Castle Management is delighted to add such an experienced and established youth coach in John Debbaut. “There are never enough managers who love the game and have the ability to teach young athletes. John will bring a trunk filled with baseball to the tournament and the Emperors players will definitely learn from his approach to the game.” As quoted by 14U tournament manager Bart van Gils.

Coach John will be accompanied by Siegfried Peeters. Another experienced coach who serves as the youth coordinator for the Borgerhout Squirrels in Belgium. Siegfried is also experienced as coach of the Belgian national youth teams, knowing how to handle young players.

We welcome both to the Battle at the Castle Managers and coaches corps!
