Van Der Schaaf’s Walk-Off Gives Dragons Victory Over Chargers

It came down to the wire on Tuesday, with Dragons taking victory on a dramatic walk-off single in the late innings that sealed their victory over Chargers. The game was tied at six with Dragons batting in the bottom of the sixth when Stijn Van der Schaaf singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run. The base paths were crowded in this high-scoring game. Dragons collected seven hits and Chargers had nine. Konosuke Nakazawa got the start for Dragons. He went two innings, allowing zero runs on two hits, striking out one and walking zero. Kevin Fitzgerald started the game for Chargers. He allowed two hits and four runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out four. Nick Andringa, Thibaud Pastor, and Mart Blijleveneach contributed in relief for Chargers. Dragons smacked one home run on the day. Denzel Sandel had a dinger in the third inning. Van der Schaaf, Sandel, Kaien Oukes, Tygo Rojer, Mees Robberse, Mark Van Daalen, and Luca Pastor each managed one hit to lead Dragons. Darnel Collins went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Chargers in hits.
