Titans Takes A Tough Blow From Dukes
It was a tough day on Monday for Titans, who lost 12-4 to Dukes
Titans got things started in the first inning. Daan Verpaalen singled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs.
Dukes took the lead for good with six runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Nolan Beugeling doubled on a 0-2 count, scoring two runs, Marnix Ruben singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs, and an error scored one run for Dukes.
Jayden Gonesh toed the rubber for Dukes. He surrendered three runs on two hits over two innings, striking out four.
Jelle Bing was on the hill for Titans. He surrendered zero runs on one hit over two innings, striking out five and walking one. Thijs Rijpstra, Jack Wagner, Verpaalen, and Ruben De Koninck each entered the game as relief, throwing one and two-thirds innings, one and one-third innings, one and one-third innings, and two-thirds of an inning respectively.
Verpaalen, De Koninck, Ayran Araya Lemaire, and Finn Kops each collected one hit to lead Titans.
Dukes tallied 11 hits in the game. Nick Hofer, Gijs Van Zalingen, Ruben, Max Kops, and Beugeling all managed multiple hits for Dukes. Hofer led Dukes with three hits in five at bats.
