Dukes Takes Victory Over Lumberjacks
Dukes wins contest against Lumberjacks on Wednesday, 8-3
Lumberjacks got on the board in the first inning when Marnix Ruben induced Tyriq Kemp to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.
Dukes pulled away for good with five runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Gijs Van Zalingen singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, an error scored one run for Dukes, Nolan Beugeling was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, and Max Kops doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs.
Ruben took the win for Dukes. He allowed five hits and three runs over five innings.Jiorgeny Casimiri threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Dylan Braak took the loss for Lumberjacks. He allowed seven hits and six runs over five innings, striking out four and walking one.
Beugeling, Nick Hofer, Kops, Stefan Schoonheydt, Thomas Kwakernaak, Rickert Koch, Mikuláš Hanuš, Thomas Maathuis, and Van Zalingen all had one hit to lead Dukes.
Jelle Van der Lelie went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Lumberjacks in hits.
