Third time around, Hendrickx feels good Dragon things are coming

A Dragon manager for a third year. The BATC Tournament is very happy to announce the return of Belgium national team coach Hendrickx as the manager of the U15 Dragons. Yes, Sven Hendrickx found some time again in his stuffed agenda to work with youngsters for one whole week. Incredible that a former European coach of the year takes time to help 15 talented kids to bring their game to a new level.

After two third places in 2016 and 2017 he is ready to enter his first BATC final. And when that game comes, it will be a joy for him to watch his Dragons go all the way trying to secure their maiden tournament win.

Paul Bun on Sven Hendricks managing the Dragons: “Having a national team coach like Sven at our tournament is a great asset. It is very important to have managers like him at our grounds emphasizing the top notch atmosphere for the players. Experienced and charismatic coaches with leadership skills who know the game of baseball. That’s what makes the tournament special. And yes, Sven is premium quality. We love his approach.”

Sven Hendrickx: “Basically it will be all about the basics. If the team manages to execute the fundamentals the right way they will put themselves in a position to win. Add a ‘never surrender’ juice to it and they can accomplish anything. It will be fun to watch them do just that. And when I see that happen, I will leave it all on the field. Looking forward to that already.”

Jamie Verheyleweghen will be the Dragons assistant coach again like in 2017. He brings a lot of Dutch Hoofdklasse baseball and Belgium national team experience with him.
